[...ah, that makes him blush. To be that exclusive...]
I'm really happy to hear that.
[And at the response, he gives a soft frown, then moves forward and touches their foreheads together.]
I can't imagine what it's like, to be a demon... to have these things that have been a part of your life for so long that they feel eternal, only to finally lose them.
[Akira gently corrects him. Not by blood, but certainly by their bond.
There's no way to make this better. No way to lighten Astaroth's spirits or put a positive spin on things. He was losing a cherished family member.
Akira could have him cry out his heart a hundred times, but in the end, only time could heal this wound. If it did.
He shifts and loops an arm around the demon, hand running up through his hair. His heart aches with a deep pain, and it's not just from what Astaroth is feeling.
And then he presses slow kisses to his face. Loving and revering, supportive and comforting.
I know it's probably weird, knowing that Lucifer has done all of this horrible stuff - to you, to people we care about. [ Another certain demon, in particular, applies to both of them. ] But I don't want to lose him. That's why I was doing everything I could to help him with this round. Even if he was dying either way, at least if the ritual was completed then he could be reborn again.
[ No, this isn't really something Akira can use his abilities to help with. It's not going to be pleasant or fine for a long time.
But he does appreciate that the other is here all the same. A shoulder for Astaroth to lean on. Someone to hold him when the hurt becomes too much to carry alone.
Like right now, both of Astaroth's arms are curling around Akira to pull him in real close. Letting the other soothe him with those kisses and presence. ]

[ When their foreheads touch, Astaroth's eyes close. ]
We aren't eternal or immortal. Demons have been killed before.
It's just... I've always looked up to Lucifer from the day I came into existence. He's been like my sibling.
