The horses thing seems kind of random, given all his other stuff seems water-related.

I still don't understand why people think this is cool in this day-and-age.
[ But he will at least make the motion, even if he refuses to do the sound effect. ]
Poseidon created horses so he can understand them. As can his descendants.
